Applying for Day Care Assistance
Step 1:
Call the Department of Social Services at 858-8953 to schedule an appointment. You may also go directly to their office at 290 Main Street. Their staff will help you with required paperwork.
Step 2:
If Social Services has determined that you are eligible to receive assistance, you will receive an approval letter and day care subsidy number. If it has been determined that you are ineligible for assistance, you will receive a denial letter.
Step 3:
If you have been approved for Day Care Assistance, bring your application, approval letter, and day care subsidy number to the front desk at Gateway-Longview Family Resource Center. If you have not been approved for Day care assistance, please submit a copy of your denial letter with your application. You must include these with your summer camp application, or your application will not be accepted.
Income Guidelines for Day Care Assistance
The exact amount of each family’s day care subsidy is determined by the total amount of family income. If you are employed and your income corresponds to the amounts listed in the chart below, you may be eligible for Day Care Assistance.
